Step 1: We begin by inspecting the condition of the sail and assessing the necessary work. We remove and inspect the battens, check all seams, leech lines, trim lines, eyelets, and any other fittings. For adjustable batten boxes, we clean the adjustment mechanism, including the sliders, with special attention to roller-type sliders.
Step 2: We remove dirt from the sail. Different materials are used for cleaning depending on the type of contamination. The entire sail is soaked, rinsed, and dried.
Step 3: Minor repairs are performed. If necessary, we arrange for professional repairs in a sail workshop, providing an estimate beforehand. We remove any debris or splinters from the battens, replace battens as needed, and offer estimates for replacing damaged battens. Small repairs to batten bags are also carried out. Similarly, we check the trim lines and replace any UV-damaged, cracked, or broken clutches.
Step 4: Finally, we lubricate all sliders, batten adjusters, reef pulleys, etc., and treat them with the appropriate materials. If needed, we also replace or repair flow indicators.
Our service is primarily designed for polyester (Dacron®) cruising sails, but we offer maintenance for all types of sails. However, the cleaning processes may vary depending on the sail material.
