The running rigging is a prime example of what can make a boat feel neglected at first touch. Beyond the unpleasant texture and unkempt appearance, frayed, stiff, and dirty ropes significantly hinder the handling of the boat. This can ultimately backfire in an emergency situation. It’s extremely inconvenient when the mainsail cannot be furled in time because of these issues.
We undertake to replace any or all of your boat's ropes, including the purchase of materials. During the survey of your boat we will also recommend the optimum type, quality and thickness.
Beyond the simple replacement of your ropes, we also make any type of splice. Loops, endless furling lines, soft shackles, etc.
Following traditional methods, almost anything can be solved with simple knots, off-the-shelf ropes, metal shackles, pulleys, and fixed diameter lines. But just because it’s possible doesn’t mean it’s the best or most efficient solution. In fact, quite the opposite!
Because sometimes weight does matter. Not compared to the boat’s 8 tons, but for example, relative to the weight of a light wind sail.

What does this include?
Inspection and maintenance of fittings, with special attention to the proper lubrication of all moving parts: winches, rope clutches, clam cleats, tracks and cars, pulleys, sail furlers, mast and boom grooves, tuff-luff, wind indicators, and anemometers.
Procurement of spare parts and replacement components, if needed
Including mast fittings - yes, this means we’ll climb the mast if necessary.

Boat engines are not designed for maximum performance but rather for longevity. They are often thought of as durable, low-maintenance constructions, leading many to neglect essential tasks like oil changes. Most people haven’t even heard of the impeller.
The reality is that regular oil changes are just as crucial as they are for car engines, and periodic inspection - and replacement if necessary - of the impeller is equally essential.
Our inboard engine maintenance service includes the following:
Oil change
Replacement of oil and fuel filters
Impeller inspection, lubrication, and replacement if needed
Checking coolant levels
Coolant refractometer testing (freezing point measurement)

Cracks, discolouration , and scratches can develop on a boat's hull for a variety of reasons. If the gelcoat is damaged, it’s not just an aesthetic problem: it no longer serves its waterproofing function, and the internal fiberglass becomes vulnerable to moisture, which can cause further damage. Prevent issues by repairing your boat in time!
The repair process involves several steps. First, the damaged gelcoat is removed, and the cracks are widened. Any detached layers of topcoat need to be stripped off. The aim is to eliminate the damaged material and prepare an adequate surface for the new topcoat to adhere to. Second, the damaged area is filled, sanded, and refilled as necessary until the original shape is restored. Finally, the repaired area is sanded and polished to seamlessly blend with the surrounding surface.

We will attempt to keep our customers informed of the current situation, but please check with the harbour master. Tenants of the company "BAHART" are not affected by these charges, at least for the time being.
